I Band of Horses pubblicano oggi il nuovo disco Things are great, via BMG.

La band condivide oggi anche il nuovo singolo “Warning Signs”, traccia che apre l’album, forse la canzone più emotivamente evocativa e rivelatrice del disco.
“Warning Signs” mette immediatamente in discussione lo stesso titolo dell’album, poiché il contenuto crudo e autobiografico della traccia si chiede se le cose sono effettivamente grandiose e se lo saranno mai.
La canzone, che inizia con una chitarra ansiosa e inquietante, è nata in seguito a un incidente del 2016, quando Ben Bridwell perse la voce sul palco della Sydney Opera House, facendolo piangere davanti al pubblico australiano. Spiega Bridwell: “I had gotten in a bad situation in Sydney, Australia—we were really overworking on that tour–and my voice went out and I actually cried at the Sydney Opera House onstage. I couldn’t sing and I just started weeping. And you can’t sing when you’re crying. It’s impossible. So that’s what the whole, like, crying at work thing was. I thought it seemed a bit universal. Everybody knows you’re not allowed to be emotional at your job, but I bet all of us have probably been through something likethat.But I think it hints at other things in my life, deeper problems that seemed unsolvable at the time. I think there’s probably a few in there. Neuroses that permeate the other songs as well.”.
“Warning Signs” è stata preceduta dai singoli “Lights”, “In Need of Repair” e “Crutch” (con quest’ultimo la band ha raggiunto il numero 1 nella classifica radiofonica AAA segnando per la prima volta nella loro carriera la conquista della prima posizione).
